Statement of Commitment to Child Safety

#BeYourself #StrongerTogether

At Happiness Hangout, the safety and wellbeing of every child and young person is our highest priority.

We are committed to providing a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment where children and teenagers can connect, create and thrive.

Our organisation is committed to implementing the Queensland Child Safe Standards and follows the child-safe principles promoted by the Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC). This includes:

  • Putting the safety, wellbeing and best interests of children first.
  • Creating an inclusive environment where every child feels respected, valued and heard.
  • Maintaining clear codes of conduct and behavioural expectations.
  • Screening and training staff and volunteers where required.
  • Responding promptly and appropriately to concerns about child safety.
  • Continually reviewing and improving our child-safe practices.

We encourage children, young people, parents and carers to speak with us if they have any questions or concerns about child safety.

Together, we can create a place where every young person feels safe, supported and able to belong.
